Lead JavaScript Engineer

Expired on: Jan 30, 2022

Job Type: Full Time

Company Description

PoutineSwap is Canada’s true zero-fee cryptocurrency buy/sell marketplace. At PoutineSwap we are building the next generation of DeFi protocols, tools and dApps. We move fast, break things and create solutions to make DeFi more accessible in Canada. Working at PoutineSwap is like working for your own project – we look for talent that wants to create things, test new ideas and push the boundaries of code.

About the job:

We’re looking for a Staff level JavaScript engineer with deep technical knowledge – someone who builds, tests and deploys frameworks. At PoutineSwap we’re creating an entire eco-system in Canada for DeFi connected web apps with blockchain services, conveniently and securely.

What you’ll be up to:

  • You’ll create new tools, protocols and frameworks that will connect users, apps, blockchain wallets and services into the PoutineSwap ecosystem.
  • Iterating upon our existing JavaScript front-end library to make it easier for developers to build on our native DEX.
  • You’ll work to enable blockchain applications to connect to services like credit card payment processors, notification services, identity services and more, all in a decentralized manner.
  • Working with the PoutineSwap community to best understand their needs and developing our governance structure for DeFi products and services. You’ll break down their feedback into actionable items to be executed upon by you and the rest of the PoutineSwap team.
  • Optimizing our frameworks for ease of use and scale. Our tools need to be accessible to everyone, yet powerful enough that they can meet the needs of the most demanding applications.

A little about you:

  • You’re a JavaScript champion at heart. We’re looking for someone with a deep passion for building secure, powerful and accessible software and web applications.
  • Ideally you have previous experience developing JavaScript libraries and frameworks, and understand the nuance and tradeoffs involved in creating software that is elegant to use, durable to change and that can help guide us forward in our mission to make DeFi more accessible to Canadians.
